Limerick City Community Safety Partnership (LCCSP)
In 2006 Limerick City Council received funding from the Department of Environment, Heritage & Local Government to pilot a community safety scheme to deal with low level anti-social behaviour within local authority housing estates.
As a solution The Limerick City Community Safety Partnership (LCCSP) was formed as a partnership project between Limerick City Council, An Garda Síochána and the HSE.
Six community coordinators were employed by LCCSP to strengthen the links between communities and the partnership agencies and to
- Increase Community Safety
- Improve the Environment
- Promote Community Spirit
- Create awareness of the above aims through Education
The LCCSP is currently in its fourth year having secured funding for 2010. The Team comprises of seven staff members headed by a Project Manager.
